Cultures from all over the world, including those in cold and arctic regions, used animal fats: tallow from grazing animals (e.g., beef tallow), bear fat, seal blubber, etc. to shield their skin from harsh weather, promote healing, and maintain a healthy skin barrier.

About the ingredients
Tallow is pure, rendered beef suet fat, traditionally used in skincare and soap-making, among many other uses. In skincare, tallow is prized for its ability to deeply moisturize, nourish & protect the skin. Our tallow balm is rich in essential fatty acids, making it an excellent, naturally superior alternative to synthetic creams and lotions.
We use only 100% grass-fed suet tallow, sourced from regenerative farms we've partnered with in Maine and across the USA, who raise hormone-free, steroid-free, and pesticide-free cattle. And the best part: they're all pasture raised with love!
Our pure suet is dry-rendered over very low heat, resulting in a rich, solid tallow at room temperature that is accompanied by a subtle and delightful buttery scent. This is a long process, but absolutely worth it.
It's then filtered 4 times through 100 grade unbleached cotton cheesecloth to remove all impurities.
We don't bleach, chemically deodorize, or add any thickeners, water, salts, stabilizers, or preservatives to our tallow.

Organic Golden Jojoba oil is rich in vitamin E and antioxidants, it moisturizes, balances oil production, and strengthens the skin. We only source our organic Jojoba oil from another local Maine business.
We use first-pressed, organic golden Jojoba oil with our tallow because it’s lighter, smoother, and gentler on sensitive skin compared to alternatives. Our nourishing skincare formula fortifies your skin’s natural barrier, making it more effective, versatile, and deeply moisturizing for all skin types.
Tallow by itself can be too high in oleic acid to suite your skin. By incorporating organic jojoba oil into our tallow skincare formulations, we’ve carefully corrected the balanceof fatty acids to be suitable for your face and whole body.
We only use steam distilled, certified organic essential oils, carefully selected to be safe for the entire family. These oils provide additional skincare benefits, gentle healing properties, and a mild, pleasant scent.
We intentionally use essential oils that are also very shelf stable and will not oxidize within the lifespan of the product.
